More than a dinner.
There are plenty of ways to feed a room full of people. Sobremesa is about giving them something to remember. When we started thinking about what a Sobremesa event should be, we kept coming back to the same idea: some of the best nights don’t happen in restaurants. They happen around a table.
Friends gather. Wine gets opened. Food comes off the fire. Plates get passed. Someone tells a story they’ve told a hundred times. Dinner lasts longer than anyone expected.
That’s the kind of evening we want to create. Your place. Our fire.
A Sobremesa event brings the energy of a live-fire kitchen directly to you. Rather than simply arriving with prepared food, we want cooking to become part of the experience. Fire crackling. Smoke in the air. Ingredients hitting a hot grill. Food coming from the flame and making its way directly to the table.
There’s something wonderfully primal about gathering around a fire, and there’s something completely different about watching your dinner being cooked over one.
The kitchen becomes part of the party.
No banquet food. No banquet feeling. We’re not interested in taking restaurant food, putting it in warming trays and calling it an experience. Menus are built around the occasion, the season and the people sitting at the table.
Vegetables blistered over coals. Meat slowly kissed by smoke. Seafood over an open flame. Warm bread. Big platters. Sauces, herbs, citrus, good olive oil and all the beautiful little things that make you reach across the table for another bite.
Some things might be refined. Others might be wonderfully messy. That's kind of the point. The best part happens after dinner. The word sobremesa describes the time spent lingering around the table after a meal. Dinner is technically over. Nobody leaves. Another bottle gets opened. Someone pours another glass. Conversations wander. Stories get better. People laugh a little louder.
That idea is at the heart of everything we're building.
Because ultimately, Sobremesa isn't just about how we cook. It's about why we gather.
Make it yours. A Sobremesa experience could be an intimate dinner for friends, a milestone birthday, anniversary, rehearsal dinner, company gathering, client event or simply an excuse to get your favorite people around the same table. It doesn't need to feel like a catered event. In fact, we'd prefer that it didn't.
We want it to feel personal. Relaxed. A little unexpected. And entirely yours. You bring the people. We'll bring the fire. Let's make a night of it.
If you're planning something and want it to feel less like an event and more like one of those nights people are still talking about six months later, we'd love to hear what you have in mind.
Good food. Long talks.
